Beat Making Made Easy - How To Make Professional Beats With Beat Making Software

If you aspire to be a music producer, then you will first need to have a top notch beat making software. There are so many out there, and you will end up wasting crap loads of time if you had no idea what features to look for. Seriously, as all of them claim to be the best in the industry you got to know some of the important features that a good beat maker should have.
We are going to look at some of the "must have" features that a good beat maker should have. In comparison to studio equipment, beat making software is far affordable to everyone. You just need to have a computer to make your own beats. In terms of sound quality, don't be surprised that a good beat maker can produce beats that sound like those produced by studio equipment.
Now here are 3 important features to look for when you are choosing a beat maker.
1) User Friendly and Intuitive - I don't know about you, but I hate reading a hundred pages user manual just to learn how to use the software. So, it's very important that the beat maker itself must be user friendly and intuitive that even a total beginner could start without many hassles. Nevertheless, the simplicity of the software does not mean that it has limited options or editing functions to make unique beats. So, the software has to be good for both beginner and veteran alike.
2) Comprehensive Preset Library - Not all software offers this. However, it would be good, especially for beginners. You can modify these preset beats to whatever you like. You can also reverse engineer the beats to see how professional beats are put together. The preset library should cover a variety of music genres.
3) Video Tutorials - This is definitely a must. A picture is worth a thousand words. So, with video it's even better. Video tutorials will definitely help you to understand faster and better and cut down the learning curve. And most importantly, it's easier to follow than to read a user manual as you are inputting the data through sight and ear instead of just your sight.
Above list is by no means exhaustive and final. There are many more things that you should consider but these three are the most important. Some criteria may not even be on the software itself but rather after sales service that you get with the beat maker like the member's forum that you can ask questions and share knowledge with like minded people from all over the world.

To Make Beats Online You Must Know Your History

If your grew up in the 90's like I did then you will know that back then the only way you could make music which was with some expensive equipment. Back then people would have studios in the weirdest of weird places that would keep up the neighbors all night because of all the loud beats.
People had to hire a band to make their instrumentals and just maybe you got luck if your uncle Larry knew how to play a guitar or piano which could save you a couple of dollars. In those days it was tough for musician but it did teach us one important thing. It allowed the real producers and musician to really hold their skills and break out into the world because there was less competition.
It actually took lots of money to hire a producer that will put together beats and sound tracks that will wow the crowd. People really had to be great at what they did and those who didn't harness the skills then they just couldn't compete in the music world.
Today Is Different
Since the rise of the internet in the late 90's which allowed us to get online and explore new places and software. The music industry has suffered extremely because of the cd burner. Not only was people were able to download and burn music, now people are able to become mega music producer from the confers of their own homes.
The internet has allowed people to break into the industry without any talent because now you can just go online and start making music just as if you were one of the pros. Basically if you want to become a music producer and make beats for a living, then all you will have to do is get online and find a software that will do basically all the work for you.
Many sites offer you ways to make music online just by you paying a monthly fee for using their service. There's no need to have music equipment these days when you can just start a software up and start making music. So this holds the question is making music online the future or not.
Music has evolve into something that's a billion dollar industry each year and everyone's trying to get their piece of the pie. DJ's have even changed the way they get their music when doing social events.
A perfect example is that a lot of DJ's have stop using Cd's these days. They are mainly converting to using the net to play and make their music. So basically everything they do is at their finger tips, and the smart people are making the effort to make music online versus buying expensive equipment.

Drums and Percussion Musical Instruments

A variety of factors help determine the most appropriate type of drums and percussions to choose from before making a purchase. Therefore, it is important to know the different types available in the market and what they are specifically meant for. In addition, having some basic knowledge on the history of any musical instrument provides a better experience.
Drums are actually examples of percussions, which refer to musical instruments that produce sound when rubbed, shaken or hit. According to some historians and anthropologists, percussions were the first musical instruments humans invented.
The percussion instruments are grouped into different categories depending on how they are used and the type of sound they produce. The two main categories are membraphones and idiophones.
Membraphones:
Membraphones are also known as rhythmic percussions. They have different types of skin that players hit with other objects, including their own hands, drumsticks, soft mallets and brushes. Most of the membraphones do not have definite pitch. Examples of rhythmic percussions are drum sets and timpani.
Drum sets were initially assembled towards the end of the 1800s. The bass drum pedal that had been invented by then enabled one person to play a number of instruments simultaneously. New techniques were developed as more instruments were included in the drum set. Basically, a drum set refers to a group of percussion instruments that one musician plays.
The largest of these instruments is the bass drum, which produces a deep, low sound. It produces this sound when the drum head is hit by a beater that is attached to a foot pedal.
The snare drum, which is made of a shallow cylinder and band of metal wires, produces a higher-pitched sound that is quite distinctive. Sound is generated by pulling the wires across the drum's bottom head. Depending on how it is played, the snare drum produces either a snapping or buzzing sound.
Timpani, on the other hand, is made of either fiberglass or copper in the shape of a kettle, with a drumhead on top. The player can adjust the drumhead's tension using a pedal mechanism; thus changing the pitch produced. As a result, it is the only type of drum that produces definite musical notes. Timpani can also be hit with mallets to produce a deeper tone and they are usually played in groups of two or four.
Other instruments in this group include the tabla, tom-tom, octoban, darbuka, bongos and congas. Membraphones are basically the drums, whether they are manual or electronic.
Ideophones:
These instruments are often made of a single type of material and they produce sound on their own. Some of the materials used include metal, wood and bone. These musical instruments are also known as melodic percussions.
A good example of melodic percussion is the xylophone, which is made of wooden bars of varying sizes. Mallets are used to strike the bars to generate the required sound.
The South-east Asians were already using xylophones by the 1300s and their use later spread to Europe, Latin America and Africa. The first time a xylophone was used in an orchestra was in 1874, in 'Dance Macabre' by Camille Saint-Saens who was a French composer.

Chamber Ensembles - Making Them Survive

As a member of an up and coming saxophone quartet at my college, I have learned a lot about collaborating with other musicians. Chamber ensembles differ greatly from large ensembles. In order for a chamber ensemble to be successful, each member needs to understand everything, both on a musical and personal level, about each and every other member. The lifespan of the average chamber ensemble is quite short (usually just a few years). This is for a number of reasons. Most college chamber ensembles split up after the members have graduated, or members move, relocate, and logistically it becomes impossible to maintain the ensemble in its original formation. Others break up because the members do not meld well. Here are a few key points to remember when trying to keep your chamber ensemble on the right track:
1) Respect and Open Communication: In order for a chamber ensemble to succeed, an overall respect for each other's personalities and musical interpretations must be present. Nothing kills off a group of friends and colleagues more than when one or more of the members of said group goes behind the others' backs and talks negatively about them ("She isn't matching our note length on that tenuto!" or "He's playing too loudly again!"). Being able to share those thoughts with that person is essential not only to maintain a healthy relationship with them, but also creates a more effective and coherent ensemble.
2) Setting Goals: One thing that really helps chamber ensembles especially is to have shared goals and to also be aware of what they are. For example, a college chamber ensemble unfortunately does not often survive past the college years. Some students go on to more education, others move far away, and the younger students are left behind while the others graduate. Consider making a list of goals together at the very beginning of the ensemble's creation (and keep updating it every few months or so!). These are the goals for the ensemble and each member needs to give it a stamp of approval.
3) Do things together! Your time spent together doesn't have to be limited to being in a windowless practice room. One thing to remember is that musicians often forget that one's opinion of another, as a person, is much different from their opinion of that person as a musician. The two should not be linked. By doing fun things together (go out to dinner, take a road-trip unrelated to a music tour, etc.), you'll learn so much more about the other members of your ensemble.
4) Have an Exit Strategy: Sounds like a business plan, eh? A chamber ensemble is kind of like a business in that respect. There's nothing worse than being at the end of a business' life and then trying to figure out how to make the break up as cleanly as possible. Who takes charge of certain aspects of the break up (money, clients, etc.)? These are important details that if dealt with when there are no hard feelings will make the split much less painful later. But that's not going to happen anyways, right?
For anyone interested in seeing how one famous string quartet managed to stay together for over 30 years in its original configuration, I highly recommend "Indivisible by Four: A String Quartet in Pursuit of Harmony" by Arnold Steinhardt. It tells the story of the Guarneri String Quartet and all of its ups and downs and how even so they still persevered. It's a great read for everyone who has to work with anyone, not just musicians. It proves that teamwork can go a long way.

Buy MIDI Files to Create MIDI Drum Beats

MIDI is a popular term in today's world. Ruling over the entertainment industry all over the world, these files act as a backbone for a number of modern music. This digital file format comprises of a MIDI (Musical Instrument Digital Interface) message to allow communication and synchronization of electronic devices (computer, drum machine synthesizer) with MIDI-equipped electronic equipment (sound card, samplers). The set of instructions transmitted from one instrument to another guides the user in playing notes, controlling volume, setting tempo etc, which is required for composing music.
MIDI files are widely used in recording studios wherein the MIDI messages are edited and rearranged as per the choice of the music composers. The different channels in a file contain specific set of instruction along with the time-duration and frequency of a particular musical note. Therefore, composers can easily select the desired channels and can edit them in the least possible time. A MIDI file allows users to enjoy full control on the digital messages and has become a popular choice for professional musicians and music lovers of the 21st century.
Now, if you want to get started with recording these files, then the first thing you need to ask yourself is whether you have a hardware device or software to record MIDI files, a MIDI-enabled input device and a sound generator. If you posses all these essential things at your media room, then you can expect to create MIDI music by your own. In order to record MIDI data, you need to connect MIDI capable electronic keyboard with the sequencer via MIDI cables. By using sequencer that records music in the form of digital audio format or MIDI data you can assure to record files in an efficient manner.
Although you have all the MIDI-enabled instruments to create music, but the recorded drum beats might not provide you satisfactory result if you overlook to choose right kind of MIDI files as per your taste and temperament. If you want to have best collection of MIDI files, you can consider searching for some companies which have wide varieties of drum patterns. Moreover, you can look for those distributors, who are able to provide you drum loops at affordable prices, such that you can purchase more number of MIDI drum loops within your limited budget.
The introduction of MIDI has brought a remarkable change in the development of music. Add some of the files in your media library to create extra-ordinary MIDI beats!

Your Kid Has a Great Voice - Let It Shine!

From my experience children love to sing - and when they do so they can often sing with a confidence and freedom that can fade as we grow older. It is very important to nurture these wonderful qualities from the start.
Singing lessons for children are designed to teach your child the skills needed to strengthen and control the voice, whilst remaining fun and enjoyable. The voice is still developing as we grow through our teenage years so finding suitable exercises is very important.
Lessons are combined with 'song practice.' This is where we finish the session with a song that is chosen by the student - we have many backing tracks available, from 'High School Musical' to 'Lilly Allen!'
Finding time in our busy schedules whilst making sure that our children are well supervised can be difficult. In my experience lessons work more effectively when taught in the comfort of your own home. This allows your child to learn within a relaxed and familiar environment.
Music happens to be one of those rare things which each and every child enjoys. Though most 5 year olds, 6 year olds, 8 year olds, etc. are at an age where they are too young to understand music theories or music appreciation, nevertheless, nearly all of them enjoy the 'sound' of music. This is something which is very important, and it is often a very decisive factor in a child pursuing music or developing a serious interest in music at a later stage.
Singing happens to be one aspect of music that most kids are introduced to in the early stages of school. A friendly-looking music teacher, whose slightly plump, with rimmed glasses that rest at the tip of her nose, sitting at the piano, teaching "Popeye the Sailorman" to a bunch of young enthusiastic kiddos, is a very common sight, and one which instantly brings a smile on the face of any bystander. Well, the liking for music (not to mention, the increasing influence of reality shows) has led to quite a few children developing a serious interest in music, and in particular, singing. Well, for all you kids and young children who wish to sing well, here are some singing tips for kids.
Singing Tips for Kids
Rather than enlisting any specific singing lessons for kids, I think it would be better if I instead presented a few important, but often ignored kids singing tips. On that note, here are some singing tips and tricks that kids must make a 'note' of, if they are serious about pursuing singing.
First and foremost, learn to enjoy music, as this is something that is very, very important. You will automatically get better at music (this applies to both, singers as well as musicians) if you enjoy it genuinely, from within.
Pay attention to all that your music teacher says and teaches in school. Quite often, it is in school itself where the foundation of music is laid. Show keen interest in all that is taught in your school music sessions. If you develop a genuine interest in those music sessions, it will pave the way for better things to come.
Getting proper vocal training from a vocal trainer is very important for a singer. A vocal trainer is different from a music teacher, do not get confused between the two. A music teacher will teach you all about musical notations, musical notes, music styles, music theory, etc. while a vocal trainer on the other hand, will teach you about throat care, how to properly utilize your vocal chords while singing, how to modulate your voice, how to tackle high notes, etc. Vocal training is extremely important, as improper or incorrect singing techniques can seriously cause damage to your vocal chords both temporarily, as well as permanently.
Don't get carried away by what you see on television. Many a time, it so happens that kids think of taking up singing only because they see their favorite singers and pop stars performing on television; singing, dancing, and getting showered with lots of adulation from thousands of fans. Always remember, it takes years of practice, discipline and continuous hard work to reach that pedestal. Stardom doesn't happen overnight. You need to be sincere about singing and you should keep on practicing regularly. Do not be on the lookout for shortcuts, as there aren't any.

Rockabilly Slap Bass Has Become An Art Form Unto Itself

Back in the days when rockabilly music was originally taking shape, country music recordings rarely featured drums. By the early 1950s some acts were beginning to use them, but they were still frowned upon by the country music elite. Because country music had such an important impact on the development of rockabilly, drums were originally left out of the rockabilly lineup at first too. Without a drummer, who was going to drive the rhythm? That chore fell to the bass player.
Along with country's influence, rockabilly grew out of blues and rhythm and blues. Blues bass players found themselves competing to be heard over the rest of the band--especially in up-tempo music like jump blues and rhythm and blues. Of course, they were all playing acoustic upright basses and didn't have amplification for them, so they started playing hard in order to be heard. Along with the more aggressive playing came the sounds of the strings snapping against the stringboard.
Players soon realized that, far from being a problem, this noise presented an opportunity. Bass players could now add a percussive element to the band simply by slapping the strings against the bass in various rhythms as they simultaneously sounded their bass notes.
Rockabilly bass players took the concept even further and developed a very aggressive, percussive string slapping style that, when accentuated with the ever-present rockabilly echo during recording, created a very distinctive sound that plays just as much a role in defining rockabilly music as the guitars do.
Elvis' early Sun Records recordings were arranged without drums at all. All of the rhythm was supplied by Bill Black slapping on the ol' "doghouse" bass fiddle. "That's All Right," "Blue Moon of Kentucky," "Mystery Train," and more great songs feature just Bill Black's slap bass, Scotty Moore's electric lead guitar, and Elvis on vocals and acoustic rhythm guitar.
It didn't take long for rockabilly cats to realize that the no-drums rule didn't apply to this new music and drums started appearing on recordings very quickly. (Even still, when Elvis appeared on the stage at the Louisiana Hayride, house drummer D.J. Fontana played along from behind a curtain at the back of the stage so as not to offend the country audience! Fontana and Elvis quickly hit it off and played together for years, with Elvis immediately letting him out from behind the curtain!)
While the addition of drums didn't put an instant stop to the slap-bass sound, eventually bands realized that they no longer needed the bass player to provide the rhythm and--seeing as how an electric bass guitar is a lot easier to carry and amplify than a bass fiddle--many players began to make the switch to electric. As the rockabilly craze died out by around 1960, so did the use of stand-up slap bass and it was all but gone from rock and roll by the early 60s.
But the rockabilly revival of the late 70s and early 80s was also a revival of the stand-up slap bass style. Most modern rockabilly bands consider this an essential element to authentic rockabilly music. And many players have greatly expanded the slap-bass style. Lee Rocker, who played bass for the Stray Cats, is a perfect example of someone who's taken the style to new heights and made it an art form all by itself.
Like the rest of rockabilly, it turns out there was a historic basis for the slap bass style that everyone now associates with the genre. Rockabilly didn't invent the style, but like it did with everything else that went into it, it did adopt it, expand it, enhance it, exploit it, and finally, own it.

Why You Can't Afford To Cut Corners With Your Music Equipment

Good musical equipment ensures a high quality sound output. There are many instruments in the market that make music, but not good enough to make great music. This is the reason you cannot afford to cut corners while buying musical equipment. For example, if you are looking for guitar effects pedals, there are many available in the market with different features and qualities. These devices are used to either color a sound or even transform it completely. As there are so many available in the market, it is not easy to choose the right one. You need to consider various aspects before deciding on the final choice. You cannot afford to be sloppy while choosing the gear for the recording as they are the one that create the right atmosphere for the complete recording.
If you want to buy gear for home recording studio, you need to keep all aspects in mind. Instruments for the outdoors do not suit for indoor recordings. If you get the right equipment for your studio at start-up itself, even though it may pinch the pocket, it helps avoid any later confusion and chaos in recording of the music. Good quality equipment from branded companies last years without causing any problem. It may not be the same if you buy any ordinary gear. The sound created by ordinary guitar effects pedals would be far inferior than the one created by the guitar effects pedals from a good company and of good quality. Not only is the sound compromised, but the longevity of the equipment also decreases along with the quality.
To get the best deals on good quality sound equipment, the best possible place to start looking is online websites. There are scores of online shops and hundreds of internet retailers that sell this equipment at highly competitive prices. You can buy any equipment from these sites such as digital recorder, guitar effects pedals, audio recorders, and several other equipment.
Many a times, it is not easy to buy new equipment. But, instead of cutting corners on the quality of the equipment, you can buy used recording devices. In many cases, these used ones have better sound quality than even the latest ones available in the market. These can be bought online through online auctions. These are more efficient and better than even the best ones available currently in market. These offer you not only good quality but also best value for money.
Before getting any kind of equipment such as guitar effects pedals online, you should always check on the reviews and testimonials from the previous customers. This will help you get most reliable and the best equipment available. You can make great music and last longer in the market. Even if you are buying these devices from some regular store, you need to make sure about their quality. This way you can make Sounds Great Music from good quality music instrument without constraining your pocket much.

You are always Beautiful

We believe that we lack the beauty and to live in an imperfect world, but it is only because we can not see properly.

Beauty is an act of consciousness. This evaluation of color and form in the phenomena of experience.

Your form is always beautiful, because it is created with exquisite craftsmanship. Each cell represents the triumph of evolutionary genius.

And if you go beyond the form in your view, you can only feel a sense of fear and wonder.

The mind can process trillions of bits of information per second. At this point, your mind is organizing the exchange of oxygen from the internal organs, blood, and your eyes are busy reading these words and your mind busy, to understand them.

All are beautiful, because everyone has arisen in connection with the creative genius of pure consciousness.

And the world is alive, that moves poems, full of beautiful sounds, and countless impressions.

The saddest thing of all is how little we appreciate it all.

Sunsets and sunrises are lost to us, the morning dew and touch hands of her lover lost to us all. We do not see that before us, or feel what is inside us, because we are busy with things great folly.

Is there any sense that people think about you? Is there any sense if you're working hard to collect more papers with pictures of dead presidents on them? It is not true prosperity for myself and walk on this earth?

Throughout the day, spend a trivialization of things of inestimable value and reflect the real state of things trivial value.

We are proud to be moral, but there you are busy making a deadly sin lightly life and beauty, joy and carefree performance.

You are always beautiful, whether they admit it or not, but this beauty has nothing to do with the artificial standards of the best forms of human color, shape and height. Your beauty is manifested as an act of creativity itself.

The only thing more surprising is alive than alive, as you. What else is needed? That's not all just Footnotes to this beauty, the beauty of having a conscience?

Best to create you. How long does it take before you raise the head of your problems and give him notice?
